Pharmaceutical Development Technology
In the Pharmaceutical Development Technology pillar, we develop highly efficient, environmentally sound processes for the production of active ingredients and the pharmaceutical products they can be made into. Our work includes the realisation of new catalytic hydrogenations, chemo-, regioselective and stereoselective production of small molecule active substances and their intermediates using organocatalytic and microwave activation methods. For targeted syntheses, we develop flexibly adaptable flow chemical reactor modules by 3D printing. We are developing a chiral selector molecule platform for the production of enantiomerically pure drug substances and intermediates, and controlled crystallisation processes for the production of pharmacologically advantageous optical isomers with high throughput. In the field of drug development, we are implementing an innovative formulation technology platform, efficient manufacturing methods to improve quality, and new process analytical tools and artificial intelligence-assisted processes.
